it is caused by a strain of the HPV virus. it is caught by having microscopic cuts on your feet that become infected with the virus by walking somewhere where a person with plantar’s warts have been. I’ve had numerous ones on my feet for over three years and have tried pretty much everything to get rid of them. the only thing that has truly worked for some of them has been surgical removal
but doesn’t the surgical removal hurt??
i have them.
Hi There!
I Just in the last few weeks was rid of one of these painful Plantars Warts…I had this one for about a little over a year!
I will tell you what worked for me in getting rid of it!
I was told that Keeping Duct Tape on it would eventually "smother" it because they like Air….I wore plain ol Duct Tape on my heel for probably a few months…After taking a shower just replacing more…It did NOT work on its own! However,
I bought some Generic store brand liquid wart remover and applied this daily before applying the duct tape…Within a Few days I was able to remove some of the skin around it with a pumice stone!
Again More medicine, Hurt a little with the Newly exposed skin but not bad…..Within a Week or so of trying this home remedy and scraping with a pumice stone the root of that sucker was removed! All Gone!
Sounds weird I know, But Give it a try! I know how bad those suckers hurt!
Good luck!
If someone in your family has them and you use the same shower or walk barefoot you could end up with them. It’s a highly contagious virus –
We have tried the wart medicine – disc’s by Dr. Scholls.
However the most effective treatment has been seeing a dermatologist and having them burned off – a little painful but ensures they are gone.
(Spray bathroom showers/tubs with bleach)
Viruses cause them. You can catch them from other people… but sometimes they just show up.
You can get rid of them either by using over-the-counter products, or getting them frozen off by your doctor (I’ve had it done since nothing else worked, it wasn’t too bad, but it did hurt quite a bit).
