A wart is a virus. You got it by touching someone who had warts or by touching something that was touched by someone who had warts. Warts can spead over your skin and you can pass them to someone else. Most over the counter products do not work unless the warts are very small. Your best option is to visit a dermatologist who can "freeze" it off. (procedure called cryosurgery which is treatment with liquid nitrogen). Wash the area several times a day to prevent spreading. Good luck !!
Warts are non-cancerous skin growths caused by a viral infection in the top layer of the skin. Viruses that cause warts are called human papillomavirus (HPV).
