It will lessen the chances but it’s not perfect protection. Why don’t you get the vaccination? I did. It’s called Gardasil. They have noticed a huge reduction in genital warts cases everywhere it was introduced!
It lessens the chances a lot. But it isn’t completely safe if they have warts that are not directly on the sexual organs.
Genital Warts, Also Known as Venereal Warts or Condylomata Acuminata, are caused by the Human Papilloma virus .
Some Tips and Precautions You Can Use Rigt Away :
* Take care not to damage, scratch or pick at these warts.
* Inform your partner, use a condom, and practice safe sex.
* Wash your hands thoroughly with hot water and soap.
* Avoid touching them. Because they are so contagious, you could spread them with your hands.

Genital warts are caught when your skin has contact with them, so if you wear a condom, but your skin is exposed to warts, then you can catch them . If you have sex and the warts are covered, then you can’t catch them, however, if you come into contact with exposed warts then you have a good chance of catching them.
FYI – It can take up to 4 – 6 months for the warts to start showing, if you have caught them. If you develop them, see your doctor immediately and they will access your situation; they will either freeze them off and/or give you some cream to apply to them.
