Your question is not clear. If the doctors have advised to come after 6 months for another Pap Smear test means at present she is not having the disease. Cancer at any stage found can not be left alone without treatment. Once it is found the treatment has to start. The cancer is slow only in showing up to signs and symptoms but once it it confirmed in not time the disease can advance and later become not treatable.
The general definition of stage I and stage II for Cervical Cancer are –
*Stage I. Cancer is confined to the cervix.
* Stage II. Cancer at this stage includes the cervix and uterus, but hasn’t spread to the pelvic wall or the lower portion of the vagina.
So immediate treatments viz. removal of the tumor by surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy are required to be given. I believe you have not been given informations properly.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU TO TAKE ANOTHER OPINION FORM AN EMINENT ONCOLOGIST IMMEDIATE, AS CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA AND YOU CAN NOT NEGLECT IT. -
presently lots of new cancer drugs have emerged and since the cancer is between stage 1 and stage 2 the chance of getting fully cured is very high. My sister has breast cancer stage II she got operated and the right breast removed and undergone chemo and she is fine. So you need not worry see an oncologist and he would do the best for your daughter. All the best.
well first of all if she has stage 1 or 2 cervical cancer and the dr told her to come back in 6 months i say ditch the dr and find a new one secondly if she has wart virus it is hpv which is the human papaloma virus and there is treatment the will keep it at bay or resolve it
Get a second opinion.
Either she has misunderstood what she was told, or the Dr has given poor advice!
If she has cervical cancer she needs to get it treated NOW.
If she has an abnormal pap smear NOT cervical cancer then she should be having a follow up smear in 6 months.
