How do I know when my plantar wart is dead?

I’ve had this plantar wart under my big toe for about a year now and I’m using salicylic acid to get rid of it. I’ve been using this stuff for about 3 weeks now and a bunch of dead skin came off. How do I know when the wart is dead and when to stop using the acid because i don’t want to burn any of the new skin.

it must be very painful.I went to the doctor for several times but I think it still there.wart is freaking nasty.I used a lot of products from tape, gel even liquid nitrogen as well, and they burned my skin.the thing is salicylic acid only burned your outer skin..stop to use the acid once it looks terribly burned.and see the doctor..the longer you have warts, the deeper its root in your skin…try to see the doctor and boost your immune system…hope it’s working to us…Good Luck
