Herpes – symptoms – confused?
The other day I was diagnosed with herpes and am a little bit confused after looking online.
I went to the doctors and was examined for no more then 10 seconds and without taking blood tests / urine tests or taking a sample from the ‘bumps’. He said straight out ‘its herpes’. Initially I thought I may have contracted genital warts.
My symptoms are as follows:-
Initially there was one to two small skin coloured bumps. I could feel them but I could not see them. That was about a month and a half ago. They do not itch nor do not sting. No pain what so ever. There are now approximately 10. They are quite small, hard pimple like bumps. There is no fluids leaking from them. They are not like blisters nor are they like sores and they have no scabs. Why have the lasted this long and is this the symptoms that others have had?
Some insight would be great.
Do you suggest that I get a second opinion and test?

1) you do not have herpes!
2) it look like you have genital warts!
trust me – it is better to have genital warts then herpes!
3) go to another doctor for second opinion!!!!
4) if you have genital warts – you MUST get rid of them as soon as it is possible because genital warts are very contagious!!
and if you really want to get rid of genital warts forever then you should know that you can remove genital warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or cream but genital warts can reappear again and again because genital warts appears when your immune system is weak!
HPV is the virus that causes genital warts. People can be infected with HPV and never show any symptoms. Others will develop genital warts. These warts can stay the same size, grow, or go away on their own. It largely depends on the infected person’s immune system. A healthy immune system means your body may be able to suppress the virus and not show symptoms.
Even after the warts go away, the person will always remain infected with HPV. That person can spread the virus even without showing symptoms.
Also, if you do have HPV, it is important to have an annual pap smear because your risk of developing cervical, anal, penile cancer is higher – because you can have more than on strain of HPV virus – the one that can cause only genital warts and the other that causes only cervical cancer – but it do not cause genital warts!
so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of genital warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities! (No smoking, no beer/ale, no booze, no drugs, no junk food, no fast food garbage, no sugary sweet soda’s. Get on a good, balanced, healthy diet including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables.
Drink P L E N T Y O F W A T E R , fruit juices & fat free milk. Snack on lots of RAW fruit & veggies. Get up one hour early every morning & take a BRISK 30 minute walk – then – do the same thing again in the evening after dinner. Make sure you eat a good, balanced breakfast daily. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get 8 hours sleep each night. Flip your mattress over so it will level out to give you a good night’s rest. Slack off too much coffee & tea)
also you must use herbal treatment because you can not always live 100% healthy…!!!
in that case Wartrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of genital warts comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont reappear again! It works by stimulating your immune system to fight the HPV virus that causes the warts + it helps to prevent cervical, penile, anal and etc cancer because HPV virus in 70% cases can cause cancer!!!
and of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly).
( Wartrol is 100% safe because it contains 5 main ingredients which are safe – Black Sulphide of Antimony, Wild Yellow Indigo, Potassium Hydrate, Arbor Vitae (Tree of Life) and Nitricum Acidum (Nitric Acid) and those ingredients have no side effects!
Herpes simplex (cold sores) respond rapidly to lysine. (both applied topically, and added to the diet) It is cheap, non invasive, safe (an amino acid— protein) and there are virtually no contra-indications. (some people say not to take it continuously for more than a couple of weeks)
I think you should insist on a second opinion. You need a swab test at least for a proper diagnosis. I have had two attacks of genital herpes and both times I had a single sore that was red, broken skin and hurt to touch – like a blister would be after you popped it, although I never had a blister.
Google genital herpes pictures and compare. Some do look like the bumps you describe.
"Herpes can be diagnosed clinically, by culture, and by serology. As mentioned earlier, often patients are asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic. Clinical diagnosis is difficult in these cases. Also, patients do not always present with lesions. At this time the clinician must rely on a history and ask the patient to return when there are lesions. Cultures are very helpful if the patients presents early in the recurrence. However, viral shedding only lasts a few days and often the lesion has crusted or disappeared by the time the patients sees the clinician. Thus, a negative culture will not definitely rule out herpes. A new test which measures HSV DNA in a swab called a PCR assay may be more sensitive for detecting HSV in a lesion than a viral culture. The PCR assay is, however, more expensive than a viral curlture. PCR assays need to be sent to regional reference laboratories.
The most reliable diagnosis for most patients is an antibody test that is specific and sensitive for HSV-2 antibodies in serum. These tests are new and are major improvements over older assays which did not distinguish between past HSV-1 and past HSV-2. Persons with past HSV-2 infections make antibodies to the HSV-2 virus. These new assays can distinguish between antibodies to HSV-2 from HSV-1. These assays are new and all laboratories do not do them. You need to specifically ask for these assays. Additionally, a test is now available for use in the clinic or the doctor’s office. This test is a type-specific HSV-2 serologic test that can give results within 15 minutes of pricking the patient’s finger." [http://www.herpesdiagnosis.com/guidelines.html]
Marco, I doubt a girl would have PPP!
you may have "PPP" or pearly penile papules.
relatively harmless and quite common.

It doesn’t sound like herpes which is easy to diagnose by looking. Blood tests don’t make the diagnosis; they only confirm that you’ve had herpes in the past. I’d guess they’re something called molluscum contagiosum which are little round bumps caused by a virus, just like warts. Treatment is easy but they often go away on their own. They’re not rare, and any family doctor should be able to make the diagnosis. If he or she seems uncertain, mention that someone suggested molluscum.
Herpes Blood Tests are generally used in cases where no visible symptoms are present. A blood test works by detecting the presence of herpes antibodies. There is a possibility that the virus will not show up in a blood test, and a positive result is not always indicative that a person has genital herpes.
If active symptoms are present and the sores are not healed one should request a specific virus culture or assay for the herpes virus. A Viral culture looks for the presence of the virus in the lesion. This method is very specific and does not frequently give a positive result when something else is the culprit. The viral culture often misses herpes even when it is present. Often a patient who has received a negative culture result will be asked to come back again when a new genital lesion appears so the culture can be tried a second or third time.
Request for a herpes test first. If he doesn’t require you to do so, get a second opinion. The most prominent symptoms of Herpes are recurring cold sores and blisters. You have to get tested to make sure you have the right diagnosis therefore getting the right treatment.
Its benefits is hundred percent sure to help you.
