Dermatologist claimed hubbys foot wart caused by dirty needle sharing…could there be another cause?

My hubby recently had a very painful wart removed from his foot and the podiatrist was very insistant that it was caused by sharing dirty needles…Which hubby NEVER EVER did. And was very offended by the accusation. The only possiblity of exposure to dirty needles would be cattle vaccinations…..you use the same needle. Is there any truth to all this craziness?

If you are in the US, medical records are quite protected here now… HOWEVER, you DoN’T want this kind of thing in a medical file, should it ever need to be accessed by an insurance company.
Had he only mentioned it "looked" to be, or asked the question, I would not be so bothered, BUT, if his notes include his stupid and erroneous suspicion, it could mean trouble down the line for your husband.
I think I would be visiting my attorney on this one, just to check out the implications of it showing up in a medical record.
I don’t know about the truth of it, not being a medical person, but the accusation, if not true, could be damaging.
It could be a plantar wart. I had one and it was extremely painful. I probably got it from walking around barefoot and using a shower barefoot that I shared with a couple of room mates. Now I always wear slippers and shower shoes (well, the shower shoes only if I’m using a public shower).
The podiatrist is a nut. Warts are caused by a virus and that can spread many ways. The podiatrist must have made some false assumptions about your husband based on his own prejudices and ignorance.
I have had plantar warts ever since I was a kid. It’s virus that gets into your skin (in this case the skin on the bottoms of your feet) and causes the warts.
You can pass the virus along by contact or by using the same shower.
PS, I have never used drugs IV, and I have never heard of warts being transmitted that way. I think your doc needs to do some more reading!
Foot warts are called PLANTAR WARTS.
Warts are a virus… you can pick the virus up from anywhere.. not just from a needle.. I never heard of that anyway.
Ususally walking barefoot.. showers.. sharing shoes.. socks…
You can have a plantar wart for a while and probablly dont notice it until it starts hurting.
Most plantar warts can be cleared in 2 or less treatments from the doc.. longer for some over the counters..
PS.. get another DOC… that one is WACKY
