I’m a straight guy who’s never had warts or any other symptoms I’ve read about in connection with HPV or any other STD. A lady I’ve been intimate with came to me recently and told me she has it. She is the only lady who has ever told me this. Based on that alone, and what I’ve read, I’m sure I’ve been exposed to it. Should I assume I have it because of that? I have never had symptoms. I keep reading that there’s no test for men, and that "it usually goes away on its own," but also that "it never really goes away" and that a person "may have it and be able to give to others and never have symptoms, not even initially." I’ve also heard that there is indeed a test for the presence of the virus in the body, but that it is costly and thus not offered at neighborhood STD clinics. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks kindly.

I developed a burning sensation when urinating about 2 weeks after unprotected sex. I also developed a medium sized pimple like bump on the lower under side of the shaft of my penis around the same time. I didn’t go to the doctor and it’s been about 3 months since the symptoms first appeared.
The burning sensation went away after about a month, but the bump is still there, only it has gotten slightly smaller. It kind of looks like it’s under the skin. There also seems to be a hole at the top of it which looks like a large pore. I thought that it was an ingrown hair because I get those alot, but those usually only take about 2 months to release the almost fully grown hair. I thought that it was syphlis at first but according to all the medical websites the sore is supposed to heal on it’s own. It doesn’t hurt. Could it be a genital wart? I think it might be but why is it under the skin and why does it have the small hole at the top? Anyone ever have something like this?

I recently had a HPV test come back as High Risk after a routine exam. I have no warts, and no symptoms at all. I will have to go back in 3 months for a recheck, which I am not too worried about, but what could this mean for my husband? Is there any risk to him at all? Are there any precautions that we need to take?

I noticed today that I had brown discharge in my underwear. I looked it up and it said it could be symptoms of gonarhea or genital warts but I have been to the Gyn and had those tests done which came back negative.I have been with the same person ever since…Should I worry? Is it normal? Help please!

My husband is 23 and he had a wart appear on the bottom side of one of his finger. The symptoms and looks of it revielede to us that is it a Plantars (seed) wart. We are using the medicated bandages and it is working. It removed the top layer of skin, but now there is like little black heads sticking up everywhere. Someone told us that we need to take tweezers and remove those and they said it was the seeds from the wart. Is this true? If not what do we need to do besides treat them with the medicated bandages? We tried to use the freeze off, but it didn’t work. If is really nasty looking.
We are clean people, I don’t know how he got one; he had a splinter there and as soon as that healed up, the wart appeared.
It just worries me with him in pain. We tried the freezer thing, but it didn’t work. Honetly, if the bandages don’t work in the next few days, we’ll probably go to the doctor. It just looks really nasty and abnormal. Seriously, what is the fastest most effective way to remove them?

If most HPV infected men do not have symptoms of warts, and there is no real test for HPV in men, how does a asymptomatic male know if he has it? I seems not possible to know the real HPV prevalence in men. Could it be nearly 100%?

So I was told by a doctor that every 1 out of 2 people get a genital wart; that its not a big deal. I was also told that guys aren’t really affected by this because their just the carrier so majority of them don’t get any symptoms and wont know they have it until they give it to a girl.
Is that true? Is the genital warts virus not a big deal to guys?

Ok, this is for a male, about 40 years old. I have a white bump on the top of my right big toe. Kinda looks like a wart, but isn’t. It itches like crazy sometimes, but it feels like the itching is coming from inside my joint. My toe isn’t red, or swollen. I thought about gout, but the symptoms don’t match. Any ideas?
