After plantar wart removal, came back–what's next?

I had plantar wart removal last summer and it was a horrible experience after surgery. Then it came back after 6 months. What is next? My podiatrist wants to do surgery again, but there must be an alternate method since it obviously didn’t work the first time.

I heard that warts are due to virus and the infection usually doesn’t help with allopathic medicines but works very well with homeopathy.
