I had a small common wart frozen off of my knee 3 1/2 weeks ago. After I had it frozen it got swollen, blistred and fell off. Now I have this disguisting open wound that has been emitting pus for the past 3 weeks. It has a gross yellowish white coating of something over the top of it. It is extremely sore and hurts super bad when I hit it on things. Is this normal? Or could it be infected?

I was wondering how long do genital warts usually take to leave? And…how can you tell they are leaving? Is there a feeling of some sort? On average, how long does Aldara usually take to get rid of them?
Sorry, have alot of questions.
Recently was given Aldara to treat them, but seems as if they’re already going away…but there seems to be an itchy burning feeling in the area. Just wondering if this is normal. The doc said that if the aldara doesn’t work that he’d freeze them, but that is painful and he thought we’d try this way first.

I’ve been applying a 17% salicylic acid on my warts. The acid caused the skin it touched to turn white. I have been ‘peeling’ off the white skin as it can be removed pretty easily. Should I be doing this or should i just apply the acid over the white skin. Will it work if it doesn’t come into direct contact with the wart?

it’s already been about three months, i think the wart is gone, but the skin is a reddish color and won’t seem to return to normal. thanks a bunch!

Can you get a genital wart in one location of your body through exposure at another? For example, could thigh to thigh contact lead to an outbreak on your buttocks or elsewhere? Also, is it true that the virus has typically run its course if you have no outbreaks for a certain amount of time, although it never truly is eradicated? Finally, certain strains show no symptoms in men. How would men ever know if they had the virus? For such symptomless strains, what is the normal life of the virus?

The area behind the where the wart was is now white and the original skin tone was medium brown. Is there anything I can use like retin A to help?

I started developing what looked like skin tags on my genital region, I asked a doctor about them and she said i could remove them by tiing a string around them. So I did. 3 months later I was diagnosed with having genital warts. I had them treated and now I have no warts. Will I give all my partners HPV if I have sex now? Is the string method just as good as any other method or do I have to kill the skin around the wart to?

Should I pick at the wart and remove skin layers over the wart so that it is fleshy on the top and then apply the salicylic acid wart treatment (which really stings!) or should I leave the wart alone and just apply the acid (which doesn’t hurt as much)?

Also, if you have had quite a large wart and got rid of it, what method did you use?
